‘Game of Thrones’ season 3: Peter Dinklage, cast to speak at Academy event

Game of ThronesOutside of various Comic-Con events around the world, there are really not that many opportunities out there to watch the entire “Game of Thrones” cast interact with one another. They often film in separate countries on separate days, and with such an expansive cast there are often actors who take part in an entire season without even meeting the likes of Lena Headey or Peter Dinklage.

Luckily, both actors will be in attendance for a just-announced event of great import: the “Evening with Game of Thrones” event being put on by the Television Academy of Arts & Sciences (the folks behind the Emmys) on March 3 at 7:30 p.m. Pacific time. The event and discussion will be streamed live on Emmys.com, so rest assured that you will have an opportunity to hear what many of the actors have to say without even being in attendance.

At the moment, the folks confirmed to attend include showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, author and co-executive producer George R.R. Martin, and actors Dinklage, Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Kit Harrington, Michelle Fairley, Richard Madden, Sophie Turning, and Maise Williams. If there are any notable omissions on this list, it is because Emilia Clarke will be preparing for her debut on Broadway for “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” while Alfie Allen’s role is going to be reduced for the third season thanks largely to what is in the books (or in the case of his character, what isn’t in the books).

This is promising to be a very exciting evening, and an opportunity to get some early scoop about just what took place during the season 3 production last summer, and what the actors enjoy the most about taking on some of these characters.
