‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4: Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev up for new awards

The Vampire Diaries CastThere’s no question that this is a little bit of a quiet time when it comes to the world of “The Vampire Diaries,” largely because the show is going to be off of the air until March 14 thanks to the CW’s early March hiatus designed to mostly get new episodes of their shows running through to the middle of May.

So what can you do until that time? It’s really simple: you can bookmark this page for as much news related strictly to this show as possible, watch repeats, and take part in some events to support the show online. One such example is the TV Guide Fan Favorites Awards, which has opened up voting between now and March 11. The winners will be crowned during the magazine’s April 22 issue, and it serves as a great litmus test for networks and TV executives looking to determine just what are the most popular products currently playing out there.

In the case of “The Vampire Diaries,” it is nominated in three separate categories this year: Science Fiction, Couple (for Ian Somerhalder’s Damon and Nina Dobrev’s Elena), and Villain (Joseph Morgan’s Klaus). It’s not a bad showing at all for a genre show, and it has more nominations than anything else on the network. As a matter of fact, it has more nominations between it than the rest of the network combined. (“Arrow” and “Supernatural” are the only other series to receive any love.)

“The Vampire Diaries” still has a number of twists and turns coming up this year, and it’s possible the show will have an even larger presence on such polls next year thanks to the spin-off show “The Originals.” If you want to read even more about this, all you have to do is pay a visit over to the link here.
