‘American Idol’ notes: Jessica Sanchez, Elise Testone, Angie Miller

American IdolIn this Sunday edition of “American Idol” notes, we are casting our focus primarily on new music … or at least music that may be new to some of you. At the end, though, stay tuned for an update about the live shows coming up this week.

We’ll begin here with the song that may actually not be new at all, Jessica Sanchez’s “Heart.” While we don’t have confirmation on this, we think Mjsbigblog’s assertion is correct that this song was recorded prior to when she landed her record deal with Jimmy Iovine and Interscope. With that being said, this is probably the sort of song that Jessica would be performing if she wanted to reach a more adult audience rather than top 40, and it shows off her killer voice to full effect.

Jessica’s upcoming single is actually “Tonight,” and it will reportedly have a sound that will work very well on pop radio.

Elise Testone – Check out “Soothing Beauty,” a track from Jessica’s fellow former season 11 contestant Elise Testone. She performed a number of original songs at an event while at the Charleston Music Hall on Valentine’s Day. She just uploaded this track and many others to her official YouTube challenge last week, so be sure to head over here if you want to hear more.

The schedule – In case you forgot, “American Idol” is running on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this coming week in order to ensure that all of the contestants have their moment in the sun; and based on what we’ve just found out, the ladies will be first.

This information comes to us courtesy of Angela Miller, who has apparently decided to go by “Angie” from here on out. Check out her new official feed for the show here.
