‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 spoilers: Extended trailer coming this weekend
For those of you who felt that the first “Game of Thrones” season 3 trailer was a little short or even a little choppy, have no fear: HBO is getting set to reveal a longer version of the clip very soon.
As confirmed by show site Winter is Coming, a two-minute version of this trailer is set to debut on HBO’s on-demand service come Monday morning. Typically, what this means is that the clip will actually air on the network around 9:00 p.m. Eastern time the night before, and will be posted on the internet shortly after that.
The arrival of this trailer now helps us to understand a little bit more as to the network’s strategy. Usually, their trailers are longer than just a minute long, and this goes for talking about a number of the network’s other programs including “True Blood” or “Boardwalk Empire.” However, neither of these series had the opportunity to launch during a talk show like “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” which this trailer did last week in a 60-second form. (Kimmel is a well-known fan of the series, and is one of the few American talk shows to have on Emilia Clarke as a guest.)
“Game of Thrones” season 3 will premiere in full on March 31, and we anticipate getting the opportunity to see a plethora of other teaser videos and promotions until that time. This is after all one of HBO’s most-popular series, and it traditionally fares well in a variety of forms that extend beyond just traditional TV airings.
What do you want to see from this new and extended trailer? If you want to see the two-faced new promotional posters put out by HBO a little earlier in the week, you can do so by heading over to the link here.
