‘Dancing With The Stars’: Julianne and Derek Hough developing new dance show
Derek Hough may be getting ready to compete on this upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars” with his new partner, former “American Idol” contestant Kellie Pickler, but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have a few other projects up his sleeve.
Derek and his sister, former “Dancing With The Stars” pro Julianne Hough are developing a brand new scripted drama series with Starz called “Blackpool”. According to Gossip Cop the show will center around the world of competitive ballroom dancing with a deeper focus on the very prestigious annual dance competition held in Blackpool, England. The series promises more then just dancing though – viewers will have an inside look at the politics, scandals and the stress that comes along with having to be “perfect” that goes on behind the glamorous exterior of ballroom dancing.
Derek and Julianne Hough will be not only serving as executive producers on the series, but will also be the lead choreographers as well, bringing their own experiences and professionalism to the actors and crew.
At this time there is no word on casting, potential release date or even what network it will air on, the project is still in the early development stages, so stay tuned for more information on “Blackpool”.
