‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 trailer to debut during ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’
Are you anxiously awaiting the arrival of “Game of Thrones” season 3? If so, we have some breaking news coming out now courtesy of HBO, and something that many fans have been waiting for literally months on end.
On Thursday, it was announced that the official trailer for the new season, which is set to last for a full 60 seconds, is set to air on Friday night’s edition of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!.” There is no word yet on when during the show the trailer will air, but this move does make plenty of sense considering Kimmel’s appreciation for the series. He famously dressed up as Daenerys Targeryan for a cover of TV Guide, and later on he actually had the actress response for the role in Emilia Clarke on his show last year.
This trailer is actually coming out a good while later than the season 2 trailer, which actually ended up setting records for the network in number of streams over the course of a 24-hour period. It is also coming out a few days after the season 2 DVD first hit stores. With the launch of season 3 on March 31 not that far away, this is probably the perfect way for the show to start building up hype now, which will hopefully include some more interviews on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and some other talk shows featuring the cast.
“Game of Thrones” season 3 filmed last summer and fall in four separate countries, and there was also a brief bit of shooting that occurred earlier this year in Los Angeles.
