‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert, Mariah Carey, and Phillip Phillips

American IdolOne day after we brought you some of the dates for Adam Lambert’s “We Are Glamily” tour, we now have something exciting: a performance from his first show in Seoul, South Korea that is particularly stunning.

You may have heard Adam recently sing a few lines of the Rihanna hit “Stay” in a video that he posted on his Keek, and in the video below, you can check out the full version of the song. This is one of the better songs that Rihanna has released in recent years, so combine that melody with Adam’s voice and you have something to celebrate for days.

Hopefully, we’ll continue to have some more great Adam videos to share over the course of the next week or two; after all, they serve as a nice consolation for the fact that there is no tour happening in North America for the time being.

Another “Home” performance – In come back to the United States for the rest of the aritcle, Phillip Phillips stopped by the first part of NBA All-Star Weekend in Houston to perform a song that has taken much of the world by storm over the past eight months: “Home.”

We are not going to argue against the claim that this song has been played a bit too often for some people, and even booking Phillip for this event in particular was a little surprising. Nonetheless, he still sings with as much heart and tenderness as he always does, and we have to applaud that.

Mariah Carey news – Finally, a quick note for those of you who are excited to hear something new from one of the show’s current judges: Mariah will be releasing a new single on Tuesday, straight off of the soundtrack to the upcoming film “Oz: The Great and Powerful.” Mariah has composed some beautiful movie music before, so here’s to hoping the tradition continues here.
