‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: Who is becoming a series regular?

While we still have a number of episodes to get through of “Arrow” season 1, there is some breaking news coming out now about a change coming up for the just-announced second season of the show: a recurring face from this episode will be promoted to series regular.

ET Online is reporting that Emily Bett Rickards, who plays the IT super-genius Felicity Smoak on the show show, is receiving the lucky promotion, which thus guarantees that we are going to be seeing plenty more of her character. There are some roles that you never quite know how they are going to turn out until they air on TV, and this was one of them. However, we learned rather quickly that Rickards and Stephen Amell had some pretty incredible chemistry together, and there is now a pretty loyal contingent of people hoping to see her and Oliver Queen hook up rather than him and his ex Laurel.

As for what is coming up for Felicity, look for her in the coming episodes to play more of a direct row in the actions of Oliver’s team; as a matter of fact, she is even going to see the Hood’s lair for the first time. Having someone like this completely aware of Oliver’s secret is a very good thing for him, especially as it gives him access to a whole world of new possibilities … especially with someone who can go glamorous as she does in the photo here in order to trick criminals into getting what she wants.
