NBC’s ‘Community’ season 4 spoilers: Gillian Jacobs teases ‘Halloween’ special
Thanks in part to October 19 coming a little bit later than October 19 this season, “Community” is going to be airing their Halloween special on Thursday night. For most shows, this would be a massive inconvenience; for this show, meanwhile, it comes as an opportunity for more insanity.
As Gillian Jacobs explains in the video below, this episode will be more like “Paranormal Activity” similar to how the season 2 special was a spoof on traditional zombie thrillers: the gang is going to be taking off to Pierce Hawthorne’s mansion, and a panic room crisis ends up placing them in a situation that is surely horrifying.
When it comes to at least the costumes, news showrunners David Guarascio and Moses Port did get it right when it comes to Britta dressed seemingly has a ham bone: she detests the traditional “sexy” costumes, and dating Troy has not taken this out of her. As for some of the other costumes, let’s just say that seeing Troy as a tiger should be interest. (It’s definitely a change from being a Transformer and a “sexy Dracula” in the same time.)
While we were not completely kind to Thursday night’s premiere, we’ve never really found the first episode of any “Community” season to be its best as it is forced to deal with such things as exposition. Now that the show has explained away what happened over the summer, we’re bound to get back into some wackiness again … and hopefully this episode will not disappoint, considering that Jacobs describes Pierce’s house as some sort of 1980s paradise.
Do you have hope for this Halloween episode to be brilliant? If you haven’t heard about the show’s strong return in the ratings, you can do so over at the link here.
