‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9, episode 14 review: Who is buying Seattle Grace?
Thursday night’s new episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” was entitled “The Face of Change,” and by the end of this episode, it was pretty clear that there was indeed plenty of change at the hospital … and we’re talking about all the way up at the top.
Following a little tour by Callie of one of the other hospitals that is owned by a parent company hoping to buy Seattle Grace Mercy West, it did not take much time at all for some of the plane crash survivors to make a key decision: with the money that they made from the lawsuit, they were going to actually buy the hospital as their own. It was an interesting investment for them to make, and a smart way to work around the issue of some of these doctors rolling around in money. This way, the doctors all still have wealth in some form, but they also get the opportunity to keep their jobs and stay involved. As a matter of fact, owning a hospital could create far more stress for these characters than they know just how to deal with.
As for a funnier storyline for the week, Alex and Jackson pretty much had a manly-off in order to figure out just who was going to end up being the face of the hospital for a new promotional campaign … but doesn’t it seem appropriate for them to both lose? Derek ended up being the winner here, which really seems appropriate when you consider that he is, after all, a potential new co-owner of the hospital.
Jackson and Alex were not all about this contest, though, as they each dealt with drama of some form. While the former ended up working together with April in order to sneak a patient in need into the hospital, Alex spent some quality time with Jo and help some patients work through some of their issues.
