ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2 spoilers: First look at Fitz’s new son!

There is a new addition to the “Scandal” family now, and you have an opportunity to check them out in the latest photo that was posted by executive producer Shonda Rhimes. On this past episode, we saw Fitz’s wife (and First Lady) Mellie starting to give birth to the couple’s child, and moving forward to Thursday night, we are actually going to have an opportunity to see the child for the first time.

Based on the photo to the left, you would assume that this is a pretty happy family, no? Definitely. However, there is so much bubbling underneath the surface here that we really don’t even know where to start. For one, the last we heard Fitz was still interested in divorcing his wife in order to be with Olivia Pope, and the only real mystery that exists now is whether or not those feelings are still there considering everything that is happening now with the birth.

Not only that, but there is a serious issue of politics to consider here. If Fitz stays with his new family, it is impossible to argue that it will hurt his perception in the public as a doting husband and loving father. Meanwhile, abandoning the two would make him into a pariah, and he’d surely have a pretty hard time getting just about anything done without a good percentage of the American public giving him a pretty nasty scowl.

Oh, and do you like the Presidential name? The son will be known as Theodore “Teddy” Wallace Grant.
