‘Psych’ season 7 spoilers: Check out a new promo!

PsychIt has been a ridiculously long time coming, but on February 27 USA is finally going to launch the latest season of “Psych.” Not only that, but they will answer a question that has been on everyone’s mind for months: is Henry Spencer actually going to survive getting shot?

The fact that the series even decided to end season 6 on a tragic note was a surprise considering the fact that this is a show that features copious amounts of pineapples and silly puns, but the life of Shawn’s dad hangs in the balance as our hero and Gus try to solve the case (and snack at the same time) and put the man responsible for the cover-up behind bars.

The one sign of hope that the promo below should give Henry fans is that Corbin Bernsen’s character does at least make it to the hospital, and he is still alive as Shawn and Gus do everything that they can in order to solve the case. We do have a hard time believing that “Psych” would genuinely kill off any character, but it is still pretty safe to say that even if Henry survives, he’s not going to be out trying to solve any cases in the near future.

This episode is basically the second part of the season 6 finale “Santabarbaratown,” and following this we should have an opportunity to get settled back in to some of the weird and wacky cases that this show has developed a reputation for creating over the past few years.

The best news of all? That we already know that “Psych” has been renewed for an eighth season, so the mysteries (and not-so-subtle digs at “The Mentalist”) are not going to be ending anytime soon.
