‘Celebrity Big Brother’: ‘The X Factor’ UK’s Rylan Clark declared the winner
Rylan Clark may not have won “The X Factor” UK, but the over-the-top performer from Essex can at least claim another title this week: winner of “Celebrity Big Brother.”
After an intense three weeks of living in a house, fighting with fellow contestants, and having to deal with all sorts of drama that you would probably prefer to ignore for most of the time, Rylan beat out the pair of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt to end up taking home the title. Personally, we’re surprised that “Speidi” really even lasted as long as they did: they were famous thanks to a show that aired in America years ago, and for most of the time on the show they created drama, fought with their fellow contestants, and a good half of the time acted like downright nasty people. This result either shows that the British public just so happen to love drama, or that the rest of the “celebrities” competing this season were so obscure that not even their own people would vote for them.
As for Rylan’s victory, this one was obvious to us from the start. His personality got him much further on “The X Factor” than he really should have made it on the basis of vocal talent, and he had the support here from many of his fellow former contestants (including the reigning champ in James Arthur) along with many of the show’s judges and behind-the-scenes personalities. Even though “Speidi” may have had no clue who he was before the show, he is basically the Ron Burgundy of England right now: he’s kind of a big deal.
