NBC’s ‘Community’ season 4 video: Watch the latest musical mash-up
Just in case you want to pretty much get every “Community” musical performance mashed into a single video, we have it for you below. NBC has created this new mash-up with hopes of getting every Greendale Human Being out there excited for the new season, and to an extent it works. With that being said, we’re not quite sure we needed so many reminders in here that the show is airing on Thursday nights … mostly because that’s when it always airs.
The downside to this video is that the majority of the footage within here is from earlier episodes, even if they did get a little bit of everything from the “Law & Order” episode to the Christmas musical that was an elaborate spoof on “Glee.”
What we should really be happy about above all else is that NBC is actually making some sort of an effort to promote the show, even if it is based mostly at the moment on viral videos. This is really going to be about timing for their marketers more than anything else. Up until Thursday, we figure that most of their advertising money is going to be spent on their new Thursday-night series “Do No Harm,” which has the challenge of going up against two solid shows in “Elementary” and “Scandal.” Following that, hopefully the funds and the airtime will be divided between “Smash” and “Community” so that both can get off to at least a decent start.
Unfortunately, we fear for our favorite comedy series already. While the season 3 premiere last year had the luxury of going against mostly repeats, this episode on October 19 February 7 will be up against a new episode of the monster known as “The Big Bang Theory,” whose ratings have ballooned up past the 6.0 mark in the 18-49 demographic.
