ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2 spoilers: Who’s set to have a larger role soon?

ScandalAre we about to see some major changes unfold on “Scandal” season 2? We don’t know if we would use the word “major” to describe them, but you can anticipate a few characters getting a much greater opportunity to step into the spotlight on the show soon than they have in the past.

According to a new report from Zap2It, Columbus Short’s character of Harrison is going to be seeing a little bit more of a showcase in the second half of this season (which will officially begin after episode 13), as he has not had a feature episode at all so far in season 2. What will it contain? Most details are still murky, but anticipate there being a possible love interest.

For most second-year shows, it is a little unusual to see them separated into two separate arcs in the same sort of way in which “Scandal” is for the coming season. However, there is a fairly reasonable explanation for it: when the series was ordered by ABC last spring, it was done with 13 episodes in mind given that they were not confident enough following an abbreviated first season to give it any more than that. However, times have changed drastically since that time; not only has “Scandal” become a pretty enormous hit for the network on Thursdays, but its ratings have become closer and closer to actually measuring up to its “Grey’s Anatomy” lead-in.

As for what you can see on Thursday night’s new episode, get ready to see what happens following Fitz admitting to his wife that he wants a divorce, and how Olivia is going to handle an unexpected marriage proposal.

What “Scandal” character do you want to see have a larger role on the show moving forward? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and you can also watch a preview for the next episode over here.
