‘True Blood’ season 6 spoilers: Shooting notes and a Joe Manganiello cameo
We’ve been teasing often of late that “True Blood” season 6 was going to start shooting early in the new year, and now we finally have a few more details to share about just what has been unfolding in the world of Bon Temps.
According to some new sources, filming for the show technically began just over a week ago in Los Angeles, which means that some actors and crew members are going to have to get used to a pretty awful sleeping schedule. This show typically does a great deal of filming in the wee hours of the evening, which makes sense when you have a slew of vampires running around. This start date is a little bit later than usual, but are probably aware already as to why: due to Anna Paquin being a new mom, the show reduced its order to 10 episodes this season and waited to start production until after the holidays.
Now that the first week is wrapped, we also have a rather pleasant progress report courtesy of Kristin Bauer, one of the few cast members who actually posts some sort of regular updates on Twitter:
“First wk back on TrueBlood. So great 2 c my other family! Love them soooo much.”
There is no official premiere date for “True Blood” season 6 yet, but expect to see the show back on TV beginning in June. For now, just sit back, relax, and enjoy the new episode of “Neil’s Puppet Dreams” featuring a cameo from Joe Manganiello himself. He and Neil Patrick Harris also worked together recently on “How I Met Your Mother,” even though the two parties never exchanged any dialogue with each other.
