‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’: How Mama June is preparing for Alana’s future
On Sunday night, you are going to be seeing one of the most-popular (albeit controversial) reality shows on TV in “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” return to TLC with a series of specials. While you are watching it, know this: we are not seeing a family here who is planning to spend all of the money that they make here right away on extravagant gifts, expensive cars, or even a new house. Rather, they are going to planning for the future when the TLC cameras are not around.
According to a new report from TMZ, the family’s famous “Mama” in June Shannon has come up with quite a plan to ensure that all of her children are taken care of down the road. She explains to the website that with every paycheck that she receives from the network, she divides the majority of it up and places it in a trust fun for her four daughters and one granddaughter, just to make sure that they can have a reasonably stress-free future:
“I want my kids to look back and say, ‘Mama played it smart. Not like those other reality TV people … TLC puts the money into the girls’ trust accounts for me and then I get an email telling me how much everyone gets.
“… You’re never gonna see me drive a Range Rover or a Mercedes. I’ll drive one if someone else pays for it. Never gonna live above my means.”
Even with her family’s newfound fame, June is still known as a “coupon queen” with a massive stockpile of groceries, and her family still lives largely on the money that the family patriarch Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson pulls in.
Even if you do not care for the show, do you like how June is handling the money aspect of it? If you want to check out a video from Sunday night’s “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” episode, be sure to head on over to the link here.
