‘Justified’ season 4 spoilers: Timothy Olympant talks Patton Oswalt’s character
Can you believe that the start of “Justified” season 4 is now just a matter of two days away? The show is consistently among the overlooked and underrated, but it will be looking once again to get the new year off right for FX with some episodes that feature Raylan Givens trying to solve a mystery that has been in the making for 30 years.
This time around, he is going to have some help courtesy of a new man in town in Constable Bob Sweeney, who is going to be bringing a different sort of vibe to the world of law enforcement. This character is of course made even better by the fact that Patton Oswalt, who knows a thing or two himself about being underrated, is going to be playing the role.
So what is the dynamic like between these two characters? This is a dynamic that Timothy Olympant talks about in a new interview (per The Deadbolt), as he asserts first and foremost that it is unfair to say that Raylan and the Constable are going to be the kind of guys who go out for a beer after a long day’s work:
“I wouldn’t call it a frienship, I’d call it a working relationship. I can tell you that Patton Oswalt is just money. That guy is so good. It makes it a little tough for me to get through a scene with a straight face and yet he’s so serious and fantastic. It’s just been a pleasure working with him.”
Oswalt will first appear in the season 4 premiere, and should remain a part of the story after that (though to what extent is still a little bit unclear).
