‘American Idol’ notes: Check out Stefano’s new single art

StefanoRemember when Stefano Langone looked as though he was going to burst onto the post-“American Idol” scene in a big way last summer? There was a part of us that felt as though his lead single “I’m On a Roll” had the potential to be an enormous hit, and while the catchy track (which may go down as being one of our favorite guilty pleasure songs of 2012) managed to jump into the top 40 on pop radio, it failed to have any real staying power behind it.

It’s been a while, but it now appears as though the season 10 star is ready to really dive into releasing another single now, which is entitled “Yes to Love.” The song is set to debut on USA Today’s Idol Chatter at some point this week. Stefano tells the website a little bit about just what it was in relation to this track that really sparked his interest in the first place:

“[This was] a song that I heard a while ago in Rock Mafia’s studio. I loved it from the get-go. It tells a story that’s so intimate and very personal.”

So will this track actually take off? We’re going to have to hear it before we really know for sure, but there’s no questioning that Stefano has vocal talent and his style of music is popular on the pop music charts right now. With a guy like him, it’s all about marketing; had “I’m On a Roll” been promoted more as this crazy-fun guilty pleasure track and had a bit more of an investment behind it, we actually think it could have been a reasonable hit.

Keep checking back here, as we are going to have more on this song once there is actually more to report. For now, all we can say is to head over to this link if you want to read some more “American Idol” notes all about the new year.
