Over the course of the past several years, “Celebrity Big Brother” has started to become more and more international when it comes to their casting process. Michael Madsen and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino (of “Jersey Shore” fame) are just two of the guys with U.S. ties who have made appearances on the hit reality show over the past couple of years, and it is all but guaranteed that at least one more American will be joining the fray when the show returns to British station Channel 5 on January 3.
So who will it be? Based on what we are hearing now, don’t expect it to be Lindsay Lohan. Despite the former “Mean Girls” star landing in London recently, sources tell TMZ that she is not even remotely interested in the show (despite them probably being more than a little interested in her), and even if she wanted to, there is a major logistical problem in there: she has to appear in court over some suspected probation violations, and can thus not remain out of the country for too long.
However, there is someone who is coming on the show who has over the years developed quite a reputation for wanting attention: Heidi Montag, who will be competing as one “player” alongside her husband Spencer Pratt. These two attention-seeking stars from “The Hills” have been under the radar for the past couple of years, but know this: the last time that they were on a reality competition show, it was the American revival of “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!” … and it ended very badly as they both spontaneously quit a number of times.
Ultimately, the casting of Heidi and Spencer seems perfect for the show just from the standpoint of having some great storylines for the first few weeks of the show. However, we see there being no way whatsoever that these two somehow manage to stay a part of the program for any longer than that.
