‘Mad Men’: Jon Hamm joins Selena Gomez, Olivia Munn for anti-violence PSA
One week after the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and also on the same day as the NRA made headlines for a defiant rebuttal on most of the criticism they have received over the course of the past several weeks, a group of some of the biggest celebrities in TV, film, and even sports have come together to release a new “Demand a Plan” PSA urging leaders to make a change to prevent future gun-related tragedies from happening in the future.
The list of celebrities taking part in this video is expansive, and it includes the likes of such TV-friendly names as Jon Hamm, a number of faces from “Parks and Recreation” (including Nick Offerman, Aziz Ansari, and Adam Scott), Zooey Deschanel and Max Greenfield of “New Girl,” Selena Gomez, Conan O’Brien, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Joel McHale, Kristen Bell, Olivia Munn, and Peter Dinklage. The video’s purpose seems to not be to enforce one individual philosophy, but instead to merely encourage viewers to call on their government workers to enforce change.
We’re not going to spend any time here offering up commentary as we typically do in this space, mostly because the video provides plenty for itself. The one thing we do want to do is offer up some immediate applause to these celebrities for deciding to band together so quickly to support a cause that many of them believe in, and this includes many of them taking time out of filming schedules and holiday vacations in order to make this happen.
