‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9: A milestone for Kevin McKidd

Kevin McKiddWhile “Grey’s Anatomy” may have crossed its 100-episode milestone quite a while ago, there is one actor who is just not getting an opportunity to celebrate this very accomplishment … and it is someone in Kevin McKidd who could not be more essential to the story at this given moment given the relationship between Owen and Cristina and his role in the pending lawsuit filed by many of the plane crash survivors against Seattle Grace. (Expect both of these stories to play a role in Thursday night’s midseason finale “Run, Baby, Run.”

So this week, the actor (who has also had an opportunity to direct multiple episodes of the runaway hit show) took a minute to celebrate the achievement on his Twitter account:

“Just found out, it’s my 100th episode tonight! Can’t believe it !! Thank you @shondarhimes for creating Owen Hunt and all @GreysABC!!”

The best news for McKidd is that there is still plenty more to come. While it has not been confirmed just yet, the lengths of the contracts for Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey more or less gives it away that ABC wants a season 10 of “Grey’s Anatomy,” though this could end up being the show’s final year given that the actors way want to move on at this point considering everything that they have given to the series already. If this does end up being the case, it will have been a rather crazy ride for them, and they all will likely be grateful to have been a part of this for some time moving forward.

Are you happy for McKidd? If you want to see a new sneak peek for Thursday’s episode featuring Meredith facing off against Derek’s sister, you can do so over at the link here.
