‘The X Factor’ USA: No rankings for Fifth Harmony, Emblem3 next week

LylasFor those of you hoping to see the battle of the “X Factor” USA rankings live on until the show wraps up season 2 with its final in just over a week, the following news is sure to be a little bit disappointing: it’s not going to happen. With the primary reasoning being to preserve suspense, the show is going to be keeping the rankings to themselves from here on out.

When it comes to keeping the final vote tallies a mystery, this move does make a little bit of sense. However, we already think that “The X Factor” has already set themselves down a dark road with this twist. Having the rankings done every week was a smart idea at first, but they have also now more or less guaranteed for us that Tate Stevens and Carly Rose Sonenclar are going to be the last two acts standing. Neither party has moved at all since the start of the live shows from the top two, and there is no reason to think that will change now.

So really, there is very little suspense at all in this week’s show despite the frequent “anything can happen” promises. Unless somebody comes out and just absolutely bombs a performance on stage, the bottom two here are likely going to be both of Simon’s groups in Emblem3 and Fifth Harmony. If one of them goes home, the other one will likely follow during the finale. Emblem3 seems to be the only one with any hope of cracking the top 2, mostly due to the fact that they have come in close in the voting behind the other two acts before.

Do you think revealing the votes this year has been a good idea, or has it rendered many of the results shows thus far predictable? If you want to see what acts are likely to be signed after the competition ends, be sure to read the story here. We will have our full contestant rankings posted tomorrow.
