We just wrapped reporting about the final three’s performance on “The X Factor” UK Saturday, and now we have reached the part of this that has devoted fans of the ITV series shaking nervously: learning the two artists who will appear in the final round Sunday. Everyone has their favorite at this point, and the voting is expected to be reasonably tight given how popular James Arthur, Jahmene Douglas, and Christopher Maloney are.
So did Christopher actually make it all the way to the end of this competition? We know that the mere fact that he has made it this far over the season has caused many people to convulse in shock and/or rage, but he has a “silent” voting block of older viewers who are not talked about on Twitter or show up in newspapers.
At the end of the day, though, Maloney’s fanbase let him down in the end. but the surprising thing here is that he actually seemed to be rather relieved to be sent home at this point. Perhaps he just wanted to avoid getting any more hate-tweets online, and he really has to be pleased with just how far he has come this season. After all, he would not have made the live shows at all save for a last-minute twist from the producers.
Now, we do have a final two that most of Britain (plus the producers) are probably rather happy with. James and Jahmene each have a great deal of talent, and it is hard to say who the public will get behind. At the moment, our money is probably on Jahmene given that he has never been in the bottom … but anything can still happen.
