‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2 spoilers: Frankenstein has a father

David AndersDo you want to finally learn a little bit more about the world of Dr. Frankenstein on “Once Upon a Time” season 2? If so, we have some very good news coming out from the world of casting.

Sources have confirmed the former “24” Gregory Itzin, who you may know a little bit better as the President of the United States on the hit Fox show, is going to be visiting the ABC hit in order to play the part of Alphonse, the father to David Anders’ Dr. Victor Frankenstein. We are going to find out more about this character and his past during the 12th episode of the upcoming second season, as we are also set to meet his brother Gerhardt in addition to this.

Does this mean that we are going to have an opportunity to see more of Victor’s bizarre world? We’re hoping so, since we have not really seen that much of it yet so far save for one scene at the end of “The Doctor” earlier this season. We would love to know more about the connection between this world and some of the others, in addition to how anyone in the fairytale world really had an opportunity to know about Victor in the first place. (Plus, we love how the character operates with a very different sort of attitude concerning good and evil than everyone else on the show. He’s just not so cut-and-dry.)

What do you think about this casting, and are you thrilled to be seeing more of Frankenstein’s past on the show? Be sure to share some of your thoughts with a comment, and you can read our full review of “Once Upon a Time” season 2 (so far) over at the link here.
