‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2, episode 10 preview: The Evil Queen is evil again

Lana ParrillaAs nice as it has felt at times to see the Evil Queen showing off more of Regina side on “Once Upon a Time” season 2, we have to admit that there is a part of us jumping through hoops at the thought of her joining the dark side yet again. After all, she has motivation for it: despite effectively being the person responsible for Mary Margaret and Emma’s return to Storybrooke, she was abandoned and left alone while everyone else merely decided to go celebrate the end of the latest fairytale crisis.

Now, Regina is going to have all sorts of reasons to unleash her inner fury: her mother in Cora is back, and this alone could cause her to go primal out of mere self-preservation. In addition to that, seeing Henry’s reaction to his biological mother’s arrival is going to create all sorts of wicked jealousy, as evidenced perfectly in the closing minutes of the promo for the show’s January 6 return below. (On a side note, does anything think Emma is getting too powerful for her underdog status to work now?)

As for what else is going to happen moving forward, anticipate there being an epic showdown of sorts fairly quickly between Rumpelstiltskin and Captain Hook, especially considering the fact that Colin O’Donoghue’s character is probably going to arrive on the Storybrooke shores shouting his name. There will also likely be appearances from the likes of new faces in the coming weeks, but there’s still no word on what will happen next for the now-abandoned Mulan and Sleeping Beauty Aurora.

What do you think about this promo, and are you glad to see the Evil Queen’s true return to the show? If you want to go back and read our review for Sunday’s episode, you can do so here.
