‘Switched at Birth’ season 2 spoilers: With a touch of ‘Sons of Anarchy’
A few days before “Sons of Anarchy” officially wraps up its fifth season, we now know that one of the most-prominent faces on the show for some time has scored a major gig elsewhere.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, William Lucking, who played the part of SAMCRO founding father Piney on the critically-acclaimed FX series, is going to be coming on board on the ABC Family series “Switched at Birth” for an episode airing February 4, where he will be playing a tough, hard-to-please dad of John Kennish. Hopefully this will serve as yet another welcome boost to the show, which has developed a cult following among young people. (It also may very well be the network’s most-consistent show in the ratings at this point following “Pretty Little Liars.”)
If nothing else, this role for Lucking truly shows that he has a significant amount of range in his acting, and is unafraid to take on any sort of challenges that await him, even in the world of family comedy. Sadly for “Switched at Birth,” we can’t really see many “Sons of Anarchy” fans jumping ship over here to check out Lucking on another show, even though they will have plenty of time on their hands following what transpires Tuesday night.
ABC Family will officially kick off their winter lineup on Monday, January 7, when we see both this show and “Bunheads” return to the air with new episodes. Meanwhile, on January 8 “Pretty Little Liars” returns to the network along with their new season of “The Lying Game” (which has been off for almost a full year).
