ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 spoilers: First look at a new suspect

“Castle” season 5 may be going on hiatus after the Christmas “Secret Santa” episode airing on Monday night, but the good news worth reporting here is that the show will not force us to wait for a horrendously long time before it comes back for more on January 7. The episode’s first episode back is not only going to involve an intriguing case, but also a guest star who, like Nathan Fillion, has some soap-opera ties.

During this episode we will be seeing none other than “General Hospital” alum and former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Jack Wagner arrive on the show, where he is playing the character of Billy Piper, a former pro golfer who becomes a suspect in the death of his wife. The role as really perfect casting in many ways, as Wagner told TV Guide (who also first shared the photo attached to this article) that he does have a background in gold and even helps to host tournaments for charity:

“I think the producers knew about my golf, but I still had a normal audition.”

For those of you who are “General Hospital” fans, Wagner also addressed whether or not the return of his real-life ex Kristina Wagner as Felicity to the show would trigger his own Frisco Jones making a return at some point in the future:

“There was a call in February when I’d committed to Dancing With the Stars and wasn’t able to go back, and since then there’s been nothing … General Hospital is always dear to my heart and I’m really happy Kristina’s back. She still looks so beautiful. Kristina and I haven’t talked about it, but I have a feeling if I went back that would probably garner just a little bit of attention.”
