NBC’s ‘Community’ season 4 spoilers: Should you start growing a goatee now?
If you had any fear that “Community” was going to get any less weird without Dan Harmon around, we have a feeling that the following story will help to assuage some of your concerns immediately. After all, who would not love the mention of two of the greatest aspects of the show’s history within the context of a single bit of scoop?
According to TVLine, there may be a connection between the exit of Pierce Hawthorne on the show along with the return of the infamous “darkest timeline” from “Remedial Chaos Theory,” which has to go down still as one of the great half-hours in the history of the show. If this is true, the show is doing an incredibly smart thing in using something from the show’s past to help distract from the fact that Chevy Chase was relentlessly unhappy while filming the show and allegedly causing problems behind the scenes.
As for the other bit of scoop we have to share at the moment, rumor has it that the show could also be including some “futuristic paintball guns” for an upcoming episode. We should not even have to say just how important paintballs are to this show. After all, “Modern Warfare,” coupled with the two-part end to season 2 that featured Josh Holloway, are also among some of the best creations from the Dan Harmon era. Let’s just hope that however they are referenced moving forward, they still bring something new to the table rather than just the show resting on its rather-impressive laurels.
“Community” season 4 is set to premiere on February 7; and yes, that is still forever away.
