‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6 spoilers: Family bonding

From the moment that we first met Bernadette’s cop father on “The Big Bang Theory” last season, we all assumed that the writers would try to find another way to milk the relationship between him and Howard as much as humanly possible. Now, they are doing just that courtesy of a new episode airing on Thursday, December 6.

In case you have not heard already, the half-hour is going to be entitled “The Fish Guts Displacement,” and it will at least in part feature the return of Casey Sander as Bernadette’s dad, and a rather awkward trip that he goes on with his new son-in-law that he has completely nothing in common with:

“Sheldon tries to nurse a sick Amy back to health, while Wolowitz prepares for an upcoming fishing trip with his father-in-law.”

In addition to Sander, this episode is also going to feature Meagen Fay as Bernadette’s mom. The character was strangely not a part of the pre-wedding process last season, even though she was originally planned to be. What happened here? Basically, we assume the producers wanted to hold on to her to a later date … such as now. Fay’s character is supposedly going to show us where Bernadette gets some of her trademark bubbly personality from, since we are sure not seeing very much of it at all from her father.

Are you excited to see this episode, just for the sake of seeing Howard act manly, if nothing else? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below!
