‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9, episode 6 preview: Alex shows off his angry side

Who woke Dr. Alex Karev up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? This is a question that we are hopefully going to see answered during Thursday night’s new “Grey’s Anatomy” season 9 episode, largely since we don’t want to imagine seeing him the way in which he is in this sneak peek released by ABC. He’s sulky, snappy, and he really just seems to be treating one of his new interns in Jo (Camilla Luddington) badly for no reason at all.

Considering how much time we have invested in some of these other characters already, we are sure that there will be plenty of people out there who find this sneak peek to be a little bit of a letdown. Jo is a character that we still barely know, and almost the entirety of it is of her trying to treat an ill patient, only for him to barf on her and Alex to come chew her out for her appearance.

Of course, it is possible that this is all some sort of grand set up for a larger story happening later on in season 9; after all, Shonda Rhimes has already said that Alex is going to find love this season after spending so many years trying to over the Izzie situation, and she is a prime candidate. After all, why would the writers be spending so much time focusing on these two characters together? Even though things may be tense right now, it may not stay that way forever.
