‘Jersey Shore’ season 6: Vinny Guadagnino lands spin-off talk show

After “The Pauly D Project” and “Snooki & JWoww” turned out at times to be an extended nap between “Jersey Shore” seasons 5 and 6, we did not have much hope that there would be another spin-off series coming up that it would actually be entertaining to watch. However, the latest news coming out courtesy of MTV may actually be a beacon of hope.

According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, Vinny Guadagnino has landed a new spin-off show entitled “The Show with Vinny,” which is not really a documentary into his life as it is a talk show set in his famous Staten Island home with his family. Every week, a guest will stop by and chat with Vinny, and also have a meal with the family that includes his loving mother as well as his famous Uncle Nino, whose Italian accent is so thick that it times it is beyond comprehension.

In an official statement talking about this show, here is what MTV’s executive vice-president of programming and head of production Chris Linn had to say:

“Vinny’s unique mix of humor, intelligence, curiosity and heart make him the perfect choice for this genre busting take on the interview format … As the lives of the Jersey Shore cast evolve, we are excited to explore new ground while still delivering the laughs and surprises that fans have come to expect from the franchise.”

What makes this show a good idea is that it is not an ill-fitted attempt by the network to claim that Vinny is still this ordinary guy who is neither rich nor famous; rather, he is someone who has evolved, even if he is in touch with his roots at the same time. This could be an enormous hit with the fans, just on the basis of the idea along with the fact that the host has always been the smartest, and wittiest member of the “Jersey Shore” cast.
