‘Homeland’ season 2 spoilers: Who wants out … and why?

In case you were wondering just how major an impact the events of Sunday night’s new episode of “Homeland” season 2 are going to have on the episodes coming up, the answer is rather simple: it’s going to mean a lot. As a matter of fact, the CIA more or less banning Brody from allowing his daughter to turn herself in for the hit-and-run has caused a chain of events that will once again fundamentally shift the entire focus of the series.

First and foremost, the reaction of this new CIA revelation by both Jess and Dana is going to lead Brody to making a key realization of his own: he wants out of everything, and the only way for him to do this is by severing his ties with Abu Nazir. Knowing that he is no longer of use to the agency if he cannot keep in contact with his former captors, he thus makes the decision to tell Roya that he is no longer interested in playing the game. As you would guess, this does not look to go over well.

In addition to that, Carrie is somehow going to let her personal feelings for Brody yet again get in the way of the mission, and it looks almost like she is deliberately disobeying orders to help him now go off the grid. However, you do still have to ask with her if she is really doing this out of affection for him, or if it is a part of a larger plan that the agency would not authorize her to do otherwise. If it is the latter, then it would hardly be the first time she was in this situation.

What do you think Carrie’s motives are this time, and is it possible to you that she could be formulating some sort of separate plan to take down Abu Nazir with Brody’s help?
