‘Gossip Girl’ review: A Serena stunner with Frank Ocean galore

“Gossip Girl” season 6 has largely been about changing dynamics, and we saw this shown off more than ever during Monday night’s new episode. When the hour started, it looked as though Blair and Serena were at odds, that Sage was going to ruin what Serena had with Steven, and that Dan was still on a warpath with his tell-all. Boy, did things change by the end of all of this.

About twenty minutes in here, things were looking very nice for Serena, as she found out that her new beau was actually hiding an engagement ring and was planning to pop the question! The problem? Let’s just say that there were many of them. Sage did not approve, and then Serena’s mom also tried to discourage Steven from going through with it. However, none of this stood in their way … at least until Sage decided to broadcast a certain scene featuring Serena and Dan for all to see. Even though it was from the past, the humiliation may have still been the final nail in the relationship coffin.

It was curtains for Serena and Steven this week, but we may have also saw the beginnings of another couple: Serena and Dan. Could these two actually get closer after this video fiasco? It’s possible.

As for the rest of this episode, the best thing that we can say about it is that Blair and Chuck continued to stand around and wait while he sorts out his daddy issues. Is he getting closer to finally taking Bart down? Sure, but this story is moving so slowly that it is getting a little boring to watch.
