‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Ian Somerhalder has a new rival

Damon Salvatore, thanks largely to the contributions of Elena, has now dispatched his first foe on “The Vampire Diaries” season 4 in Connor. However, he should not start to breathe to easy as another vampire hunter connected to The Five is going to be making an appearance on the show soon.

According to a report from Zap2It, fans will be getting ready to meet a man named Vaughn who is attractive, smart, and, like with Connor, is going to be next to impossible to defeat. This guy also sports some sort of accent, which either suggests that he is foreign, or he has one of those southern drawls that will make women fall all over themselves. Will he hook up with someone? That much is unclear, but he is going to have some sort of fascination with how much time Damon spends with Elena.

Being that we are still in the first third of season 4, don’t expect to see Vaughn rear his head until either the end of the fall run, or when the show returns with new episodes in January after it goes on hiatus.

In addition to this, we also have some more casting news! In the 13th episode of the season, producers are going to be introducing a woman named Caitlin who will have some sort of connection to the man Connor was working with in Professor Shane. Hopefully, this will shed a little bit more light into just who this man is, what his motivations are, and where this series is going to go from here. After all, we can’t tell right now if he is the puppetmaster, or just someone acting under delusions of grandeur.
