‘Glee’ season 4 notes: Lea Michele, Barbra Streisand, and ‘Greased Lightning’

There is no breaking news at the moment on the “Glee” season 4 front, but there are some new tiny scoops worth sharing on this Sunday leading up to the brand-new “Glease” (yes, that’s spelled correctly) tribute episode airing on Thursday night.

Let’s start first things first with the first official photo of the men in the play’s cast performing “Greased Lightning,” led by newcomer Blake Jenner as Danny. The casting here does appear to be perfect, and the other good news here is that he seems confident and has little to no recollection of some of the struggles he had in the dancing (or singing) department this past week. In addition that, Chord Overstreet and Samuel Larsen also are especially perfect in these pictures.

Meanwhile … who wants confirmation on some Barbra Streisand music coming up? Ryan Murphy has said recently that he would love to see the show perform some songs from the legendary singer / actress on the show, and as anyone who is a fan of Lea Michele knows already, she considers her to be a personal idol. Doesn’t it seem appropriate, then, that she is the person who gets the opportunity to perform some of these songs on the episodes? In a post on Twitter, the face behind Rachel Berry confirmed that she is recording two songs from Streisand to appear in an upcoming episode. Based on the fact that the stars of “Glee” record their numbers long in advance of them actually airing, this is likely to be for a season 4 episode airing early next year.

What do you think about some of this news?
