Sunday night’s new installment of “The Good Wife” season 4 is entitled “The Anatomy of a Joke,” and there is going to be quite a bit of anatomy shown off over the course of the episode: both physically and verbally.
First and foremost, we bring your attention to a certain part of Christina Ricci’s body, which her character decides to dangle in front of most of America during an appearance on a late-night talk show. This was all part of some sort of comedy stunt, but it has also led to her needing the help of Alicia and Lockhart Gardner in order to clear herself up of this mess. Considering that this is Ricci’s first major TV appearance since the brilliant but also canceled “Pan Am,” this is something worth watching just for her alone.
As for Peter Florrick, let’s just say politely that most of the episode is going to be spent with him talking about a birthmark located on his junk. It’s not entirely clear just yet how this information was first made apparent to the public, but the guy is going to have a rather difficult time discussing it without actually showing off a part of his body we’re sure that he would rather not become a headline for the local media.
To us, this on paper is the sort of perfect “Good Wife” episode that we have come to look forward to over four seasons: there’s some smart drama, but also a little bit of humor to keep things from becoming too heavy all of the time. Plus, there is a great guest star that shows you yet again that this is the best casting department in all of television.
