‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ season 5: NeNe Leakes has no plans to leave

When you consider that NeNe Leakes has a successful acting career now thanks to both “Glee” and “The New Normal,” you would almost be quick to assume that all of this would mean that the suddenly-successful actress may not be interested in being a part of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” any longer. However, that is not even remotely the case if you listen to what she has to say on the subject.

Speaking as a part of a new interview with Vulture, NeNe (who claims that she and Tyler Perry are still having a laugh over the phone call incident from the premiere, as the “disconnection” is really just part of the voicemail message that he has) explains that when the time is right for her to leave the show, she will make it abundantly clear:

“I never go back and forth on it. The show isn’t going to last forever. At some point, we all have to say goodbye to being a Housewife. Is that time now for me? I don’t think so.”

One determining factor for NeNe in the future may very well be her future on “The New Normal.” The show seems to be building a solid fan following, and this could be enough for it to have a second season. From here, it would also need to be determined if she would receive a promotion to series regular, or would stay on in her current role as a guest star (even though she is in almost every episode). We have a feeling that this show is going to keep her character of Rocky around, and eventually this could make her too busy to do both shows. However, for the time being it does not seem to be a major problem.
