‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2 spoilers: More mysterious casting
If there is one thing that “Once Upon a Time” season 2 excels in, it is finding ways to keep us guessing when it comes to casting. Remember all of those theories about Neal Cassady secretly being Baelfire? Well, the entire episode passed Sunday without a single clue handed to us about this being the man’s identity … even if there were some clues in his apartment earlier this season.
Now, we have another potential candidate for Rumpelstiltskin’s son entering the picture to go along with Neal and a currently-mysterious character played by Ethan Embry. According to E! News, we are getting set to meet a man by the name of Gerhardt, who is described as being a good-natured military man who is tight with his family as well as caring. As crazy as it may seem, pretty much every mysterious male character joining the show at this point has to be considered a candidate for the part, mostly because there only are so many out there. Plus, there is a contingent of people who feel that it would be too coincidental to have Henry’s father actually be the song of one of the most wicked people in Storybrooke.
There is no timetable for when this character will first make an appearance on “Once Upon a Time” season 2, but if we had to guess: the answer that we would come up with is the following: next year. It seems a little late in the process for a character to turn up that also would be on the show this year, especially since there are only a few episodes left before the show is done until after the holidays.
Who do you want to see in this part, and are you for having Baelfire be someone who is not Neal Cassady?
