‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley’s new fight

The strong ratings for “The Vampire Diaries” season 4 thus far clearly show that viewers are totally into seeing Elena as a vampire, even though the episode that aired on Thursday night did show us that it could be possible to find a cure with ironically the help of Connor, the vampire hunter with connections back to The Five, who trace back nearly a thousand years.

Unfortunately, Todd Williams’ character does not seem to understand his connections to the past … and this is where everyone else comes into play. It’s going to be an interesting struggle for Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) this season, and in many ways their characters will be conflicted. Why? From one standpoint, you have to make sure that Connor is immobilized and unable to hurt anyone, since that is clearly why he is around above all else. However, you also at the same time after to ensure that you give yourself an opportunity to have Elena cured of her vampirism, which is something that Stefan himself seems to be very much interested in.

In the latest sneak peek for Thursday night’s new episode “The Killer,” this seems to be what these two characters are really arguing about: how to take care of a man who can not only kill them immediately, but also poison them using werewolf venom. The only people that will be able to heal them in this situation are hybrids Tyler and Klaus, and who knows if they will be in a position to help anyone? Plus, there’s also the issue of if they will want to.

As someone who personally believes this show is better when the Salvatore brothers are at each other’s throats, we have to say that we are loving this clip.
