Chicago Fire season 8 spoilers: Alberto Rosende promoted to regular!

Chicago Fire

Chicago Fire season 8 has already had plenty of excitement — now, we’re adding to it with the latest bit of news.

According to a new report coming in from Deadline, Alberto Rosende — who has been recurring as of late as Blake Gallo on the series — is now set to be a series regular! He’s still learning the ropes of Firehouse 51, but we like some of his energy and adventurous spirit. He’s got at least a few things in common with Casey and Severide, and it felt inevitable that the NBC show would bring someone on board after losing Otis at the start of the season.

What this series-regular promotion means is that effectively, there are more opportunities in order to see stories from Gallo’s point of view. We’ll understand more who he is, let alone some of how he views the world. It’s also just nice to see so many former Shadowhunters actor sgetting work — Katherine McNamara is on Arrow, for example, and she could end up leading some sort of spin-off depending on what happens over at The CW. (It’s an idea that is at least being considered for the time being.) Meanwhile, we know that Harry Shum Jr. was involved in this past pilot season and we’re sure that we’ll see him active again on TV in a very big way soon.

New episodes of Chicago Fire will pick up next month, with the primary order of business being getting a chance in order to see what happens with Severide. In the closing minutes of the fall finale, he faced off with a dangerous contract arsonist. It looks like a battle is coming, and this is not going to be an easy situation to get out of.
