Today, CBS released a longer promo for NCIS season 17 episode 10, and we can’t even begin to explain just how excited we are for this episode. It’s a rare occasion in which the network is actually hyping up an episode as a “fall finale,” which should make it easier to recognize just how much stock the writers are putting into this. They know that “The North Pole” is going to be dangerous and action packed (Ziva and Gibbs look like they are falling through a floor!) — in addition to it being a story set all around the holiday season.

Most of the footage in the new promo was already featured in some form already, but there are a couple of little snippets in here that are new. Take, for example, a little more around the mission that Bishop is tasked with, and then also just more context in general surrounding the danger and fears of Ziva’s new mission. (There’s more of Ziva and Gibbs in general.) We also saw Odette back in the mix, which we are really stoked about since she is one of the few characters that was helping Ziva when she was underground and with her secret spy shack.
Cote de Pablo’s character is back in order to do the “one thing” that she needs to do to reunite with her family, and we have to imagine that there are going to be some dangerous ramifications that come as a result of all of this. By the end of this episode, we have a feeling that we’ll get a slightly better sense of what Ziva’s mission is and how difficult it’s going to be for all of the team. This is only going to be a two-part story so with that, you better believe that this are going to move along fairly fast. They ultimately have to, in the event that they want to give us some kind of closure here … or any hope of some sort of reunion.
