Hawaii Five-0 – Magnum PI crossover spoilers: Who is kidnapped?

The Hawaii Five-0 – Magnum PI crossover event is officially set to premiere on CBS Friday, January 3, and it feels like there’s a lot to be excited about! Think in terms of some high stakes,, but also some fun little moments featuring the two casts together. We think that this is what viewers crave about these episodes — opportunities to see unusual character pairings and some interesting what-if scenarios. How will Magnum and McGarrett react to each other? We hope for an opportunity to see that play out.

Beyond just this, it’s certainly possible that getting the two casts together could allow some characters to have a different perspective on things going on in their own lives. For more on one possible implementation of that, check out the Hawaii Five-0 synopsis below:

HAWAII FIVE-0: “Ihea ‘oe i ka wa a ka ua e loku ana?” – When a list of undercover CIA agents is stolen, Steve and Five-0 enlist the help of Magnum (Jay Hernandez), Higgins (Perdita Weeks), Rick (Zachary Knighton) and TC (Stephen Hill) to get it back and protect national security. Also, Higgins gives Tani some personal advice, on HAWAII FIVE-0, Friday, Jan. 3 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. (“Ihea ‘oe i ka wa a ka ua e loku ana?” is Hawaiian for “Where were you when the rain was pouring?”)

What could this advice be? Color us curious, but we’re absolutely intrigued about the idea of her encouraging Tani to go after something with Junior. That’s our dream, anyway.

Following this, the Magnum PI portion of the crossover is going to revolve around a kidnapping:

MAGNUM P.I.: “Desperate Measures” – When Junior (Beulah Koale) is kidnapped as leverage to retrieve the stolen list of undercover CIA agents, and most of Five-0 is rounded up by the CIA to prevent them from interfering, Tani (Meaghan Rath) and Quinn (Katrina Law) ask Magnum and Higgins for their help, on MAGNUM P.I., Friday, Jan. 3 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

It’s not easy to pair up two shows for a crossover like this, even if the two of them share executive producers and film in similar locations. We know the amount of effort that it’s taking, and we hope that it’s fun and exciting enough to be replicated in some future seasons. Of course, we gotta find out about renewals first…
