The Masked Singer sneak peek: T-Pain returns … as a judge!

The Masked Singer

On Tuesday night’s new episode of The Masked Singeryou’re going to have a chance to see T-Pain back in the studio! Yet, he’s not going to be the Monster this time around. Instead, he’s taking on a very different role as a judge.

What do we love about this? He actually understands the experience of being on this show! He knows how hard it is, and he probably had one of the toughest costumes out there as The Monster. He had to find a way to deliver a lot of big notes in a really hot costume that he could barely see out of … let alone move in. Nobody this season has a full-body costume that’s done in exactly the same way.

In the sneak peek below via Entertainment Weekly, you can see how T-Pain does as a judge on the show — and let’s just say that he seems to be borrowing plenty of his moves and style from Ken Jeong! He uses some pretty convoluted logic (it involves soup!) in order to figure out that the Tree is Mariah Carey. We get it based on some of the clues — she’s got a great voice, a big personality, and Mariah is known a lot for Christmas. Thank “All I Want for Christmas Is You” for that.

Yet, we have a hard time thinking at the moment that Carey is actually a part of this show. There’s no real reason that she would probably do this, other than maybe troll her ex Nick Cannon. (Nick does get a joke about Carey at the end of the video.) Also, while the Tree has a great voice, it’s not the same iconic voice we’ve heard from Mariah over the years.
