Is Prodigal Son new tonight on Fox? Episode 11 teaser promo
The bad news for the time being is simply this: The Michael Sheen – Tom Payne series is done for now, as much of a bummer as that is to say. We did get a nice collection this fall, ones that allowed us to get to know better Malcolm Bright amidst some of what he’s dealing with. He’s a complicated character, and we don’t think that (unfortunately for him) anything is going to be easier for him moving forward. Probably best to go ahead and expect the opposite.
Let’s go ahead now and present more of the good news — there will be a new episode of Prodigal Son coming up in January! That’s not a substantial wait and because of that, this won’t be anywhere near as painful as what we’re seeing with another show in 9-1-1. There’s a teaser promo now for what’s coming up, but we can’t say that it is altogether informative. It’s more about setting the tone than setting the stage for any particular thing that is coming up next.
Moving forward, the best thing that Prodigal Son can do is simply this: Go to the darkest, creepiest corners possible. Embrace the inner crazy. This is a show that can legitimately push the network TV envelope — with the cast and creative team that it has, everything comes across as credible. Nothing feels exploitative. There’s enough time left this season to deliver some incredible surprises … and then, there are all sorts of interesting questions regarding what the show’s season 2 future could hold. (It’s going to be up to the show’s viewers as to whether or not we get another batch of episodes; fingers crossed!)
