Is 9-1-1 new tonight on Fox? The long-term season 3 future

911 season 2

Is 9-1-1 new tonight on Fox? Within this article, we come bearing some more news on that … and also what lies ahead.

Let’s go ahead now and get the bad news out of the way: There is no new episode of the show coming on the air tonight. There’s not going to be a new one next week, either. You’re going to be waiting until March to see the show return! That shouldn’t come as a big-time shock, mostly due to the fact that this is what the series did back during season 2.

While you wait for more 9-1-1, there are some other things worth looking forward to. Take, for example, the arrival of the 9-1-1: Lone Star spin-off show. With a cast led by Rob Lowe and Liv Tyler, there is a lot of good stuff to be excited about at the moment. It’s also a different setting than what you’re used to seeing from the majority of shows that are out there.

When 9-1-1 does come back in earnest, the biggest thing we’re hoping for is a little bit more information when it comes to what’s happening with Michael. He admitted to Bobby in the closing minutes of this past episode that he’s dealing with a tumor, but he wants to keep it under wraps until he can make it through the holidays with a sense of relative peace. We’ll see if Bobby keeps that secret, given that it could lead to some issues with Athena at some point down the line. There’s also an inevitable time jump coming and we have to hope that nothing happens with Michael in that span of time.

Elsewhere, we’re sure that the DNA of 9-1-1 proper is going to remain the same. Think in terms of some high-octane rescues, dramatic character moments, and a little bit of humor here and there. A life of a first responder is never easy, but what this show tries to do is create a situation that is as fascinating and complicated as possible. They want it to be worth watching week after week.
