Watchmen episode 9 (finale) spoilers: All things must end

Next week, Watchmen episode 9 is going to air on HBO … and you better believe that this one is going to be big. The clock is ticking, and all signs are pointing to the big end being officially there.

Unfortunately, the network isn’t giving you too much in advance of what is coming up, save for noting that this is going to have end-of-the-world implications. We’ve long heard buzz suggesting that we could be getting an ending that could feel conclusive, almost as a culmination for everything on this show and then also everything that existed in the world before the show. The canon of Watchmen isn’t totally on par with the previous source material, but you knew a lot of that already. You know a lot about pretty-much everything with this show thanks to a million or more Easter eggs that have been sprinkled in.

What you can be the most excited about when it comes to Watchmen ending can be seen in the promo below — drama. Insanity. Fear. Also, glorious action and awe-inspiring storytelling. So long as Watchmen keeps delivering on all of this, we have a feeling that they aren’t going to disappoint us.

Of course, we are going to be stuck wondering for a little while if there could be a season 2. While the live ratings for season 1 isn’t shattering any records, we’ll have to wait and see if that happens. There are a lot of people watching the series after the fact and, not only that, but we do think that there are going to be opportunities to see more buzz in awards season. That could be what causes HBO to strongly consider things … but it won’t be fully up to them. That’s also going to be up to some of what the producers and writers want to do when it comes to continuing the story.
