‘Suits’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Mad Men’s’ Abigail Spencer to return

Harvey’s going to have plenty of action moving forward on “Suits” season 2, both physically and emotionally. Why? Let’s just say that a certain ghost from the past is going to be back soon for an episode airing early next year.

In a new post on her own Twitter account, actress Abigail Spencer (whose TV credits include “Mad Men,” “Hawthorne,” and “All My Children”) confirmed that she is going to be back on the hit USA drama series, where she will be playing the part of a business rival for Harvey that just so happens to also be a romantic interest. (After all, nothing on “Suits” ever really seems to come particularly easy for Harvey … or anyone else, for that matter.)

Spencer is now coming back to a show that has managed to do nothing but improve ever since the series first came on the air, both creatively as well as in the ratings. Just look at this past summer, where there were a number of occasions where it even managed to top its lead-in show in “Burn Notice” in adults 18-49. As with any show in its second season, the issue now is making sure that it continues to capture what initially made it great as the episodes go by; after all, this is a time when many other series opt to grow complacent, and put hours on the air of footage that is more or less redundant. Nobody wants to see the same thing a million times, right?
