‘Gossip Girl’ season 6 spoilers: Who’s moving on?

As a recent “Gossip Girl” season 6 video showed us, Dan Humphrey is going to be finding himself a new and unlikely roommate courtesy of someone that he once had a romantic attachment to: Blair. He was able to convince her to let him move in to Serena’s old room as a favor, referencing some of what he has done for her in the past as a bargaining tool.

However, that arrangement does not seem to be particularly long-lasting, at least judging from the clues that Dan is going to move out in the official synopsis for the upcoming episode “Where the Vile Things Are.” Not only that, but the synopsis also reveals that Dan and Serena may be taking a step closer to each other in a romantic way … which of course makes us wonder if she and Steven are still together for what will be the sixth episode of the season:

“Blair (Leighton Meester) gets ready for her mothers (guest star Margaret Colin) imminent arrival, but is unprepared for the set of demands her mother puts upon her. Serena (Blake Lively) volunteers to help Dan (Penn Badgley) find a new place to live, but their time together brings up unexpected emotions.  With Ivy’s (Kaylee DeFer) help, Chuck (Ed Westwick) discovers there is evidence incriminating his father in illegal activities and enlists the help of Nate (Chace Crawford) to retrieve it.  Meanwhile, Rufus (Matthew Settle) and Ivy are excited about their art gallery opening until they find an empty RSVP list and must scramble to find another way to make the event a success.”

In comparison to some of what we have seen early on this season, this episode really seems to be preparing us for what will be the show’s endgame. Considering that we now know that the series will come to a close less than two months away on December 17, this is definitely a good thing.
