Snooki leaving Jersey Shore Family Vacation, if season 4 happens
If there is going to be a Jersey Shore Family Vacation season 4 at MTV, it’s going to be without arguably one of the series’ most-notable cast members.
In a new discussion on her It’s Happening with Snooki and Joey podcast, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi revealed that she’s done after the current batch of episodes, which continue in the new year. As for the reason why, it’s pretty simple — the show isn’t as fun and lighthearted as it once was, and she also doesn’t like being away from her three kids in order to do it. Here’s some of what she had to say, via TVInsider:
“I hate being away from the kids, I don’t like partying three days in a row, it’s just not my life anymore … And I wanna be home with the kids. I don’t mind a here and there going to dinner or whatever, but it’s just really hard on me to leave the kids and film the show.”
We imagine it’s also harder given that Snooki’s home life is extremely separate from everything that she does on the MTV series. It’s probably hard to switch constantly between those two modes, and she clearly feels like she’s fulfilled and successful enough that she doesn’t need to do the show anymore.
So what does the future of Jersey Shore Family Vacation hold without Snooki? That’s one of the primary questions at the moment. There’s no clear indication that there will be a season 4 just yet and without Nicole, the show would be losing one of their most-iconic stars. We know that MTV has done its absolute best to prepare for this over the years, bringing out spin-off that revolve around various cast members. The problem is that none of these work anywhere near as well unless the whole group is together. The biggest problem is that this is an entire series based on drama; unfortunately, there’s no clear way to replicate that and also keep all of the cast happy and engaged in the long-term.
